Meet the North Hollywood Team Behind Vance Gate Repair North Hollywood
The crew at Vance Gate Repair North Hollywood works the same streets you do. We drive them, we park on them, and we fix gates on them. Adrian started this company in 2014 after years of commercial access-control sites, and the standard he set then still holds: a written price before anyone touches a tool, a photo record of what changed, and a full year to make it right if something isn’t. The four of us below cover everything from a squealing swing-gate hinge in Valley Village to a full cantilever slide-gate motor replacement off Burbank Boulevard. No call center. No rotating subcontractors. The person whose name is on the work order is the person who shows up.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner & Lead Technician
Adrian founded Vance Gate Repair in 2014 after spending the early part of his career wiring access-control panels on commercial sites, where a loose connection meant a tenant locked out at 6 a.m. and an angry call to the property manager. He carries that same wiring-diagram habit into residential work now. When a gate in North Hollywood gets diagnosed, Adrian is usually the one tracing the limit switch travel or checking continuity on a photo-eye. He services nine automation brands: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. His dry streak shows up on service notes like the one after a so-called repaired gate on Tujunga Avenue, where he wrote “chain tension set by someone who believed in hope.” Off the clock, he rebuilds old two-stroke dirt-bike engines, which explains his patience with finicky gearboxes.
Marco R., Senior Installer
Marco has been with Vance Gate Repair North Hollywood for seven years, and most of the full gate installations in this part of the San Fernando Valley have his welds on them. He started in ornamental iron work before moving into automated gate systems, which gives him an unusual combination: the fabrication skills to build a custom steel driveway gate and the technical sense to wire the operator that moves it. Marco handles the big jobs, the ones that need a concrete pad poured for a slide-gate track or a new post set for a dual-swing system. He is meticulous about gate sag, and if a new install is off by a quarter inch at the latch, he wants to know why before the job closes. When he’s not under a welding hood, he coaches youth soccer at Whitsett Fields, and half the team parents now know more about gate springs than they ever wanted to.
Dana K., Service Coordinator
Dana is the person on the phone at 2 a.m. when a gate motor has failed and the car is stuck in the driveway. She has been coordinating service for Vance Gate Repair North Hollywood since 2019, and she runs the schedule so a technician gets dispatched fast, with the right parts and the right background on the job. Before Vance, Dana worked scheduling for a plumbing outfit in Burbank, so she has heard every version of “how soon can you get here.” She keeps the written-price promise moving: before any technician leaves the shop, Dana confirms the job details, confirms the technician’s name and photo get sent to the customer, and confirms the van has the camera for the photo log. She is the reason nobody on our team misses a callback. On weekends, Dana runs a small ceramics studio out of her garage in Valley Glen, where broken things get a different kind of repair.
Elena S., Apprentice Technician
Elena joined the crew in 2023 after two years at a trade school in the Valley, and she splits her time between ride-along diagnostics and increasingly independent service calls. She is working through the specifics of every brand we service, but her fast lane is gate access control: keypads, intercom tie-ins, and the wiring that connects a driveway gate to a house system. Adrian paired her with Marco for install days, so she gets the mechanical side from the ground up, not just from a manual. Elena is the one who photographs every adjustment before and after, and she labels every part number in the job record, which is the habit Adrian wants burned in from the start. She grew up in North Hollywood and still lives a mile from the shop, so when a gate goes down on her own block, she has opinions about it.
One Standard, Every Job

The four of us work different roles, but the standard does not flex. Every job starts with a written price handed over before any work begins. You see the number, you approve the number, and that is the number. There is no surprise invoice at the end, because we quote the job the way Adrian did on day one: flat, specific, and in writing. Every visit ends with a photo record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was replaced, left with you and filed in the job record. And every completed repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the fix is not right within a full year, we make it right at no charge. That is Clause 1 and Clause 4 of what Adrian calls the Haven Standard, and it is the same in North Hollywood as it is on every gate we touch. One crew. One standard. You will see it from the first phone call.
